The Lower Zambezi National Park ranges in a small channel from the Chongwe River in the west to the Luangwa River in the east. One of the best-looking National Parks in Zambia, and the Zambezi River forming a natural environment to the park and the Zambezi Escarpment working as a beautiful scene.
The area was established a national park in 983; the city was the game reserve by Zambia’s president. Resulted in the park being defended with mass tourism and remains one of the few pristine wilderness areas left in Africa. The lawn gently slopes from the Zambezi Escarpment down to the river, straddling two central woodland savannah Eco regions distinguished by the dominant types of tree, Miombo, and Mopane: Southern Miombo woodlands on higher grounds in the north, Zambezian and Mopane forests on lower hills in the south.
Lower Zambezi National Park is habitat to all of the critical species in the valley with sightings of Elephant, hyena, waterbuck, zebra, impala, bushbuck, buffalo, lion, leopard, wild dogs, and kudu to name a few. Birdlife in the area is also excellent, making this a real hotspot for bird watchers. Camps are all found on the banks of the Zambezi River and are small and intimate offering an exceptional experience for family, individual and friends, groups and small conference anyone craving something different. There is a variety of activities provided 8u78 by the camps, meaning that there is generally something for everyone to appreciate, and also making a Five or six night stay in this park very general. Activities range from water-based activities such as canoeing, river cruises and fishing to game drives, night drives and walking. Combination of events is offered, as are full day activities with a yummy picnic lunch on the banks of the Zambezi River.
