Three nights – Gunn’s Camp in the Okavango Delta in Botswana

Day 1 to 4 – Chobe Safari Lodge, Botswana

On this Day a guide from Chobe Safari Lodge will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to Chobe Safari Lodge, here you will check in and spend three nights, and that marks the start of your Botswana Safari. Chobe Safari Lodge, on the edges of the Chobe River in Botswana, is the best stop for serious game observers. Situated in Kasane, Chobe Safari Lodge is near the boundaries of four African countries coincide  Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Zambia. If you are preparing to visit the Chobe area, the grand Victoria Falls or the Caprivi region, then Chobe Safari Lodge is the excellent choice of accommodation.

 

Chobe Safari Lodge, Accommodation

Chobe Safari Lodge made off of 46 Luxury Safari Rooms, 22 Luxury River Rooms, and 8 Rondavels and family rooms with children room with bunk beds. All luxury rooms have en-suite bathrooms with a bath and a shower, air conditioners, satellite TVs with eight channels, telephone, safe and fan. All the rooms have beautiful views of Chobe River. Campsite grounds with three unisex ablution blocks on the property.

On Botswana’s, far northern border lies the Kwando, Linyanti, and Chobe River systems that form a collection of lakes, islands, channels, and floodplains. Part of this operation is the Chobe National Park, famous for its vast herds of elephant and buffalo.

 

Day 4 to 7 – Gunn’s Camp in Okavango Delta, Botswana

On this day at some stage, you will be transferred from Chobe Game Lodge to Kasane Airport for your Flight to Gunns Camp in Okavango Delta. Checking into Gunns Camp and you will spend 3 Nights here.

 

Details about Gunn’s Camp in Okavango Delta

Situated in the western Okavango Delta and overlooking Chiefs Island and the Moremi Game Reserve, Gunn’s Camp is set under leafy palms and African Ebony and blends naturally with its unique surroundings. Gunn’s Camp achieves a right balance of comfort without isolating guests from the sights and sounds of the wilderness. Accommodation at Gunn’s Camp is good with six newly rebuilt Kenyan-style Meru tents with en-suite bathrooms featuring standalone baths and outside private showers. Tents are set on platforms overlooking the delta floodplains. An ideal camp for honeymooners or guests looking for a personal safari experience. Each tent is discretely set within the densely wooded island ensuring privacy and tranquillity. Furnished with an eclectic blend of solid wood and African furniture tents at Gunn’s Camp offer a sitting area as well as the private veranda.

Tents are connected to the main area via a raised wooden walkway, lit with lanterns at night, allowing access across the floodplain. The public areas consist of a lounge, high main bar and dining room with a campfire and swimming pool. Steering the way in the Okavango Delta, Gunn’s Camp runs off a solar panel, which powers the entire camp. Hot water is provided by a state-of-the-art solar-heated geyser system which delivers hot water to each room.

Activities include mokoro excursions, which allow guests to experience the fascinating river life as they slip between the papyrus clad banks of the Okavango Delta on traditional ‘mokoro’ canoes. Launched from the stern by skilled ‘poler’ guides, these trips allow the guest to sit back and absorb the scenery. For full day trips, Gunn’s Camp can prepare delicious picnic lunches which can be appreciated on a Delta island after an exciting bush walk. Guests can also explore the islands of the Okavango Delta on foot under the guidance of a professional guide. These walks are a fantastic way to experience the delta at a more human scale than with a vehicle.

Additionally, Gunn’s Camp will pack your mokoro with necessary camping equipment and food allowing guests to set out with their guide and find a nearby island to camp. The evening will be spent preparing dinner nearby the campfire in the company of Africa’s nighttime wildlife. Motorboats allow guests to explore the crystal-clear channels of the Boro River. These cruises are organized in time to toast the African sunsets while drifting on a lagoon in the middle of the Okavango Delta.

 

Itinerary summary:

 

Day 1: Transfer to Chobe Safari Lodge

On arrival at Kasane Airport meet and greet by the guide from Chobe Safari Lodge, he will then assist you with luggage and transfer you to the lodge. Arrival and check-in and depending on your arrival time you will have lunch, and later you will do a boat cruise in the afternoon and dropped for dinner and bed.

 

Day 2: Chobe Safari Lodge – Chobe National Park, Botswana

You will have breakfast in the morning, and then you will leave for the full day game drive, you go out in the morning with picnic lunch and only return to the lodge later in the evening, arrival and relax then its dinner and bedtime.

 

Day 3: Chobe Safari Lodge

Morning breakfast and then around 8 hrs. you will be picked for 2 Hours Namibia Village Walk then returns to the lodge for lunch then free time and later in the afternoon you will go out for boat cruise or afternoon/night game drive and return to the lodge for dinner and bed.

 

Day 4: Flight to Okavango Delta

Morning breakfast and then transfer to Kasane Airport for your flight to Gunn’s camp in Okavango Delta. Arriving at the airstrip a guide from Gunn’s camp will be waiting for you, and he will then transfer you to the field in time for Lunch, the relax then afternoon tea, and you will do an afternoon activity which could Boat cruise and Mokoro activity.

 

Day 5: Gunns camp

Morning breakfast, then you will go out for bush walks, or birding then return to the camp in time to have lunch, relax and then in the afternoon boat cruise or Wilderness sleep out then its dinner and bedtime.

 

Day 6: Gunns Camp

Morning Breakfast and a picnic, you will leave after breakfast for a Mokoro extended trip with your packed lunch, and you will be returning to the camp later in the afternoon, then its dinner and bedtime.

 

Day 7: Flight to Kasane for onward flight back home

Morning breakfast, then the guide from Gunn’s camp will transfer you to the airstrip and then flight to Kasane in time to connect your trip back home.
