Brief notes about Kafue National Park:

Located in the heart of western Zambia, Kafue National Park is the earliest and most significant of Zambia’s national parks. Covering 22,400 km2. Established initially as a National Park in the 1950’s by the legendary Norman Carr, Kafue is one of the most magnificent national parks in Africa. Notwithstanding its size and prominent location only two hours drive from Livingstone, it remains little-known and mostly with vast stretches of its virgin bush still unharmed. Thanks to its volume and diversity of habitat types the Kafue holds a fantastic heterogeneity of wildlife.

In a few years, the Park has seen a well-maintained growth in the number of Safari Camps that work in and around the Park. This new industry has brought with it more visitors and investment to the region, notably in infrastructure with some airstrips and good roads.

As a result of the increasing interest and benefits regarding investment, the wildlife is starting to enjoy an increased level of security by the Zambian Wildlife Authority (ZAWA), always helped and encouraged by the workers in and joining the park.
