Day 1 – 3/Day 9 – 10: Kafue River Lodge – Kafue National Park
Kafue River Lodge is your reward at the end of your journey into the North-Eastern Kafue. The stretch of the Kafue River where the lodge is located is varied, gentle and favoured by wildlife. The 4 ensuite chalets overlook the river and the sounds of hippo carry clearly across the grounds with the miombo woodland behind camp also playing home to a steady stream of game and birds.

Chalet features & amenities
The Kafue River Lodge cottages have been designed in a way that allows you to settle into this little piece of paradise for an extended stay. Each of the four ensuite chalets consists of two queen beds, a fireplace, freestanding bath, outdoor shower and teak decking. The entire lodge is run on solar power and so there are plugs in the chalets for charging equipment.
Day 3 -6: Kasonso Busanga- Busanga Plains
Offering the best wildlife viewing in Kafue National Park, The Busanga Plains is undoubtedly the best place for wildlife viewing in Kafue National Park and Kasonso – our bushcamp – is located right in the heart of the prime game viewing area. The Busanga Plains area is perfectly situated to see large numbers of red lechwe, but is also well known for the big lions, buffalo, elephant, wildebeest and relaxed roan antelope. Kasonso offers superb wildlife encounters at excellent value for money rates and combines superbly with Kafue River Lodge and Kikuji Camp.

INCREDIBLE LION ENCOUNTERS; The lions of Busanga are a highlight of the region and the encounters of these cats moving around the floodplains is something to behold.
BIRDING DIVERSITY; The water, fig tree islands and floodplains make birding superb and the Busanga has an incredible birding list to experience.
LECHWE AND OTHERS; The Busanga is also home to extensive lechwe populations and the topography of the land makes a photographer’s dream, reality!
Day 6 – 9: Kikuji Camp- Lunga River Wilderness
Kikuji Camp is our most secluded and exciting new camp in the portfolio! Tucked away in the riverine vegetation on the banks of the Lunga River, this wilderness is waiting to be explored. Ideal for the keen birder, water lover, fishermen and lovers of time and space, Kikuji compliments the more intense Kasonso and more accessible Kafue River Lodge very well.
Three reasons to visit;
SUPERB BREAM FISHING: Kikuji is ideal for people wanting, to relax, take their time and enjoy the remote Lungu wilderness.
RIVER ACTIVITIES: River based boat cruises for wildlife and birding is a wonderfully peaceful way to spend a morning or afternoon.
WILDERNESS ENCOUNTERS: Ever improving wildlife encounters around Kikuji are on offer in this remote corner of Kafue National Park.
DAY 1: Arrive in Lusaka/Transfer to Kafue River Lodge in Kafue National Park
When you arrive in Lusaka, at Kenneth Kaunda International airport, you will be welcomed by our representative. Then your adventure transfer to Kafue National Park begins.
You will depart for Kafue River Lodge through local village settlements, farms and the bush and you will be arriving at the lodge later in the afternoon, check in and relax.
Later you will have dinner and bed time at Kafue River Lodge.
DAY 2: Kafue River Lodge – Kafue National Park
Breakfast in morning and then morning game viewing activities follow, only returning to the lodge for your lunch and free time to relax, followed by afternoon tea/coffee time. Later you will go out for the afternoon game viewing activities and return to the lodge to relax and then dinner time, then bed time at Kafue River lodge.
There are a full range of activities; Game drives, Boat Cruise, Bushwalk and Bush Bikes
DAY 3: Kafue River Lodge to Busanga Plains
Today you will have breakfast and then your trip continues, to the famous Busanga Plains. You will pass through the Kafue National Park giving you more chances of spotting some animals on your way.
The Busanga Plains are considered to be the best places for wildlife viewing in Kafue National Park. During the rainy season, the flat land is largely flooded. From June the water starts to dry up, making it an ideal habitat for large herds of antelopes, buffalos, elephants and many other animal species.
You will lunch enroute under a nice shed miombo tree, before the final stretch arriving at the Camp. Since it is about 8 hours trip through the National Park, guides will always keep an eye on the game, birds and anything of interest to the clients.
Check in and you will either relax and enjoy the view of the Busanga plains or go out for a short game drive before enjoying Sundowners. Then back to the camp, later have dinner and Overnight Kasonso Busanga.
Day 4 & 5: Busanga Plains Kafue National Park
Breakfast In the morning and depart for the morning game viewing activities, it is time for you to discover this fascinating area on game drives. The area is best known for its fantastic lion sightings, they roam the area, always looking for prey. The water, the fig trees and the flood plains also contribute to the fact that a great variety of birds can be found here. You will return to the camp for lunch and free time to relax. Then afternoon tea/coffee follows, and after the afternoon game drive, back to the camp to relax and later dinner which is served under the stars on the open plains and overnight at Kasonso Busanga.
Optional; if clients would like to spend much time on the plain, packed lunch can be arranged and you will only return back to the camp in the afternoon.
DAY 6: Kafue, Busanga Plains – Kafue, Lunga River.
On this day you have tea/coffee and light breakfast in the morning, then depart Busanga Plains. You will head South to the Lunga River, towards the Lunga Kikuji Camp.
Now is the time to experience the unexplored Kafue, a new and exciting wilderness of Kafue National Park on the Lunga River. This amazing and simple bushcamp is located on the banks of the Lunga River in the northern parts of Kafue National Park giving you relaxation and enjoyment of absolute peace.
Check in, lunch and free time to relax, and afterwards you will have afternoon tea/coffee, just before you head out for the afternoon boat Cruise. Return to the camp, relax and later dinner & Overnight at Kikuji Camp.
DAY 7 & 8: Kikuji Camp – Lunga River, Kafue National Park
During these days you will have tea/coffee and light breakfast before heading out for the morning activity. You and your guide will discuss the daily program with a number of options of activities on offer, from Exceptional birding and water life for boating and fishing, complimenting more safari focused camps, with the game drives in open Safari vehicles. Then back to the camp for lunch and relax time, followed by the afternoon tea/coffee and afternoon activity and dinner. Overnight at Kikuji Camp.
DAY 9: Kikuji Camp, Lunga River to Kafue River Lodge, Kafue River
Today, you will travel back to the Kafue River Lodge where your Safari adventure began, breakfast in the morning and then you will depart for a morning game drive arriving almost in time for lunch and then free time to relax.
Later in the afternoon, tea/coffee and you have a full range of safari activities to choose from that provide something for everyone. There is always a communication on what you would like to do with your guide, then back to the lodge, freshen up and dinner is served followed by bed time. Overnight at Kafue River Lodge.
DAY 10: Kafue River Lodge, Kafue National Park to Lusaka (Kenneth Kaunda Intl Airport)
Today is your last day of your amazing Safari, you will have breakfast and then your driver will transfer you back to Lusaka for your onward international connect or other arrangements.
