Mkulumadzi activities include hiking,cultural tours walking, game drives and boating.
Pumulani activities include birding, kayaking, canoeing, water-skiing, fun-tubing, sunset cruises, picnic tours, sailing, fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, plus village tour rides all motorized activities excluded.
Day 1: Mkulumadzi
Arriving at Blantyre International Airport, a delegate of Robin Pope Safaris will meet drive to Mkulumadzi in 2.5 hours through colorful local scenes of bush, villages, and agriculture. Found on the convergence of the Shire and Mkulumadzi River; within Majete Wildlife Reserve, 70km south-west of Blantyre south of Malawi. Majete is Malawi’s sole Big Five Reserve and also one of the most significant protected areas and covers an area of over 70,000ha. Located within the Miombo woodland ecoregion and Miombo or Brachystegia woodland govern much of the higher regions in the west of the park. According to your time of arrival time in the day you will have a lunch looking at the Shire River, in case it is the afternoon you can enjoy afternoon tea and an evening game drive. The Perfect location to start your safari as Livingstone is documented to have entered Malawi by through the Shire River.
Day 2 to 3: Mkulumadzi
The comfortable lodge is in a fabulous location, and the ventures include game-drives, boating safaris, bush walks, cultural tours hiking Majete Hill, on the Shire River. Elephant Marsh and game-viewing from a hide. Visitors are free to be as energetic or lazy as they please although at least one activity per day is encouraged to enjoy Majete best.
Day 4: Pumulani
Transported to Pumulani will be right after breakfast, by taking a beautiful and scenic drive through the game area and village life of around 5 hours. Reaching the Nankumba Peninsula of Lake Malawi distinguished as one of the most stunning shores of the Lake and borders Lake Malawi is a National Park. This Park was established to preserve the cichlid fish unique to the area, and in 1984 designated as a World Heritage Site.
Pumulani is mainly situated on the west side of the Nankumba Peninsula, encircled by the national park. There are ten villas are scattered around the hillside and are different in shape and style, but all have a large bedroom, bathroom, and spacious sitting area. The front sliding doors open to an elevated deck above the ground giving amazing sights. Our exclusive beach setting is ideal for those who want to swim in the clear blue waters of the lake and soak up the sun. For those who wish to dive into the swimming pool, there is an infinity pool near the central dining area taking in amazing views of the lake, as well as another infinity pool which is on beach level. For those seeking Adeline activities, we provide various watersports activities like wakeboarding, snorkeling, fishing, and sailing, kayaking, waterskiing, and fun tube ride al. At the end of the day come aboard to our show and let our experienced local crewmen sailing into the beautiful sunset.
Day 5 to 7: At Pumulani
Lake Malawi is the most ecologically diverse lake in the world. The crystal-clear waters are habitat to at least thousand species of fish which includes hundreds of colorful cichlids. We provide personal diving services in the best diving places next to one of the islands. Those who want to explore in the real Malawian village experience, we give guided trips through the local villages. Malawians are famous for being one of the most the friendliest people in Africa and during your stay you get a chance to experience this for yourself.
Day 8: The last day, Transit
On the last day of your vacation at Pumulani, you will leave the lodge. You will be transported back to Lilongwe in time for your flight.
