South Luangwa National Park ,Kasanka National Park & Bangweulu Wetlands
Day 1: Luangwa River Camp
On arrival at Lusaka International Airport, you will be met by a representative from Robin Pope Safaris, who will assist you with your luggage and check-in for your flight to Mfuwe. Your safari guide will be waiting for you at the Mfuwe airport where he will drive you to Luangwa River Camp. The drive to camp is 1 hour through colourful local scenes of villages, agriculture as well as bush. Luangwa River Camp sits nestled under an ancient ebony grove on the banks of the Luangwa River overlooking the game rich area known as the Luangwa Wafwa. This small and intimate camp with just five bush suites, along with its setting and location creates a real “wow” factor and a romantic feeling simply flows through the camp. Depending on your arrival time in the day you will enjoy lunch or if in the afternoon for tea and the afternoon and night game drive.
On your arrival at Lusaka International airport, after immigration, you will be met by our representative who will assist you with your luggage and check-in for your local flight to Mfuwe. It's just about an hour flight to Mfuwe and your safari guide will be waiting for your at Mfuwe airport then he will drive you to Luangwa River Camp which is about an hour through the amazing local scenes of the villages and also the bush. The Camp actually sits nestled under an ancient ebony grove on the banks of the Luangwa River overlooking the game-rich area known as the Luangwa Wafwa
Day 2: Luangwa River Camp
You will have full day to Explore the Luangwa National Park either on the 4x4 Game Drive Safari or on foot – walking Safari
Day 3: South Luangwa /Kasanka National Park
Today you will have breakfast around the campfire and then you will be transferred to Mfuwe Airport in time for you to catch a 50 mins flight to Kasanka National Park. Depending on your flight time you may be arriving in time for lunch and then spend the afternoon bird watching along the Luwombwa River. Luckily you may see African finfoot, ross’ lourie, pel’s fishing owl, and osprey. Returning to camp almost in time for dinner and then bedtime at your convenience.
Day 4: Kasanka National Park
Today you will enjoy a day of bird and game watching in the hope of seeing many mammal species such as Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, sable antelope, reedbuck, and the rare blue monkey. You will also Visit the sitatunga hide with its panoramic views over the Kapabi Swamp where you can spot as many as 40 sitatunga feeding at the same time.
Day 5: Kasanka National Park / Bangweulu Swamps - Shoebill Camp
Breakfast and then at some stage you will be transferred by plane to Bangweulu Swamps, arriving at Shoebill Camp. The search by boat and foot will start - to track down the Shoebill. You will be back to camp in time for lunch and out again after tea to see the herds of antelope for which the area is famous. Dinner is simple but adequate and then an early night.
Day 6: Shoebill Camp
This day will be spent on bird watching and enjoying the surroundings. Watch from the hide at dawn or dusk as thousands of waterfowl fly overhead.
Day 7: Lusaka Hotel
You will fly back to Lusaka for an overnight stay ahead of your return home.
Day 8: Transfer to Lusaka International Airport
Today you will be transferred back to Lusaka International Airport for your onward connection.
