Day 1: Kapama River Lodge found at Kruger Private Reserves in South Africa
In the morning you will take your flight from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit next to Kruger National Park. Arriving at Hoedspruit airport, a delegate will meet you and transported to Kapama Game Reserve where you will be ushered into your rooms and served lunch right before starting on your first Big Five game reserve game drive. Explore with a tracker who will do their best to spot the Big Five and educating you about the Wildlife. Before sunset, you’ll rest for a sundowner cocktail and will have a chance to sit back and enjoy the African evening set over the distant peaks of the Drakensberg mountains. You will get a chance to see nocturnal animals as it gets darker appointed out by a skilled tracker with many species of animals spotted at this time. Arrival is at the lodge is typically around 7 pm, giving time to relax before a delicious dinner.
Day 2 and Day 3: Full day at Kapama Game Reserve with all meals included
Today you will rise between 5 am, and 5h30am for tea or coffee at dusks before setting off for a morning game drive. The cooler morning temperatures determine that the game in reserve be usually active, and the bright light makes for exceptional images. Returning to the lodge for breakfast, after which you can relax by the pool and swim or read a good book enjoying the services of the hostel. After a self-indulgent high tea, you will go out on your afternoon game drive, which may remain beyond dusk, then your day will invariably end with a great dinner and some reflecting about the day’s sightings.
Day 4: Kapama Private Game Reserve to Hazy view with breakfast
Another early start for the final morning game drive and, expectedly, some memorable sightings to wrap up your stay at Kapama. After the ride enjoy breakfast at your lodge before you are gathered from the lodge for a stay at Blyde River Canyon & Bourk’s Luck Potholes. You will then be taken to your lodge in Hazy view where dinner will be served. Spending a night at Kruger Park Lodge includes Dinner and Breakfast.
Day 5: Hazy view and Victoria Falls at the Imbabala Zambezi Safari Lodge
After an early breakfast, you will be taken to KMIA airport for your flight to Livingstone. At arrival, you will be met and transported to Imbabala Zambezi Safari Lodge in its tranquil found on the banks of the Zambezi River. A modest and humble lodge with only nine thatched chalets, each opening onto a secluded verandah where a shaded hammock beckons you to settle in and enjoy the brilliant river scene.
Relax the afternoon away swaying in your hammock, pulled out alongside a swimming pool or take in a massage at the newly opened Imbabala Spa. Imbabala sits in a private wildlife yielding, don’t be surprised to see impala eating on the lodge lawns, monkeys jumping in the tree branches or the infrequent elephant wandering into lodge!
Day 6: Game Drive & Zambezi River Safari
Wake up to coffee and home-baked rusks, accompanied by a morning game drive in this private game yielding. Imbabala has highly skilled and passionate guides who are only too happy to share their understanding of the wildlife that you see: elephant, impala, warthog, giraffe, and lion or even leopard! You return for brunch served under shady trees, then relax and enjoy your surroundings before afternoon tea and a cocktail cruise. Drifting along the Zambezi River is not only remarkably peaceful; it’s also excellent for game viewing as you sail past, crocodile, hippo, and herds of elephant collected at the water’s edge.
Day 7: Safari Activities at Imbabala
How you spend today is entirely up to you: enjoy another morning game drive or opt instead to go angling for toothy tigerfish – one of the best fighting freshwater fish in the world. Alternatively, perhaps you’d fancy a supervised walking safari; for a chance to focus in on the birds, plants and smaller creatures but there’s also the exciting possibility of encountering more large game too! The afternoon we’d suggest another Zambezi River cruise, the excellent way to end the day as you celebrate the sunset while cruising along the river, returning to the lodge for dinner served under the stars.
Day 8: Tour of Victoria Falls
Today you’re transported from Imbabala Zambezi Game Lodge to The Elephant Camp, pausing en route for a guided tour to the magnificent Victoria Falls. Nothing qualifies you for awe sights and sounds of the Zambezi River in full thundering over of the falls; the roar supplemented by clouds of drenching spray that can be viewed up to 20km away!
Around two-thirds of Victoria Falls lie in Zimbabwe the rest being in Zambia with well laid out paths winding through the rainforest and opening up to a pretty rainbow, mist with white curtains of water. A guide not gives you insight into the story of Victoria Falls and knows all the best spots to take amazing photos of you in front of waterfalls. After the trip, you’ve shifted to The Elephant Camp just an easy 15-minute drive away.
Day 9: Elephant Interaction & Departure
Wake up in your comfortable tented suite which has glass sliding doors opening onto a secluded deck and dive pool with fabulous views. Breakfast is on the main lodge deck, after which you’re led to the Wild Horizons Elephant Sanctuary which 9s on the lodge grounds where you’re able to interact with orphaned elephants.
