North Luangwa National Park: The real and surviving wilderness of Africa & famous for its massive herds of buffalo, a spectacular sight if they’re seen on the run, kicking up dust for miles behind them. A large pride of lion also inhabit the area. Other common mammals are the hyena, Cookson’s wildebeest, bushbuck, zebra, warthog, baboon, vervet monkey, puku, and impala. The area of the park is renowned for its abundant game – hippos, buffalo, antelope, giraffe,, and crocodile are constant visitors to Mfuwe Lodge’s lagoon, while in November the local elephants regularly wander right through the lobby, attract by a nearby wild mango tree. Mfuwe Lodge Accommodation: 18 Guest Chalets (2 suites, 3 family rooms, 3 doubles, and 10 twin rooms)
Every chalet has its own private deck the cottages are equipped with en-suite shower, twin washbasins and toilet, international power sockets, toiletries, hairdryers, personal safe, mosquito nets, and air conditioners.
Buffalo Camp – North Luangwa National Park
The camp founded in 1980, the buffalo was the first allowed to operate in North Luangwa National Park, all thanks to the anti-poaching efforts of its founder John Harvey. Today it still offers an entirely unique experience of African wildlife, thanks to the vast knowledge of its owner Mark Harvey and his experienced staff. The camp is built almost from scratch every year – 7 Chalets, Kitchen, bar and dining area rise from nearly nothing within 4 weeks.
Accommodation: Guests are accommodated in en-suite chalets with hot and cold running water. Most of them consist of a double and single bed, but additional ones can be provided for family accommodation. The cottages are open-fronted with a panoramic view of the river but are designed to prevent unwanted visits from curious animals. There are two types of accommodation available. full board included all meals and activities whereas self-catering does not cover activities that have to be arranged separately. Bar & Restaurant: The cash bar at Buffalo camp offers all essential while in the bush beverage such as ice-cold beer, coke and of course in & tonic for those spectacular sunsets. The restaurant serves meals throughout the day to full board guests.
Arrival off your international flight meet and greet by our representative who will assist you with luggage and immigration formalities then show you the domestic check-in desk for your flight to Mfuwe in South Luangwa National Park.
On arrival at Mfuwe Airport, a guide from Mfuwe Lodge will be waiting for you, welcome and assist you with your luggage and transfer you, Mfuwe Lodge, your home for the first 3 Night in the Luangwa Valley. The transfer takes about 45 min on a nice tard road through the settlements of Mfuwe.
Arrival and Check-in and then you will go out for the Night game drive looking for nocturnal animals and return to the lodge for dinner and bed.
DAY 2 – MFUWE LODGE IN SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK
Morning breakfast and then you will go out for a morning game drive or walking safari and return to the lodge in time for brunch and free time. Then afternoon tea followed by an afternoon/night game drive and return in time for dinner and bed.
Today you will spend much of your time on game viewing activities. Same as day two, Morning breakfast and then you will go out for a morning game drive or walking safari and return to the lodge in time for brunch and free time. Then afternoon tea followed by an afternoon/night game drive and return in time for dinner and bed.
Today you will have breakfast and morning game drive then transfer to Mfuwe Airport for your 30 mins charter flight to Mwaleshi Airstrip in North Luangwa National Park.
On arrival at Mwaleshi Airstrip, a guide from Buffalo Camp will be waiting for you, He will take you on a 30 min transfer you to Buffalo Camp arriving in time for lunch.
Check in and lunch then tea and afternoon game viewing activity which would be a walking safari and then sundowners and then return to the lodge for dinner and bedtime.
DAY 5 – BUFFALO CAMP IN NORTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK
Morning breakfast and you will leave for a walking safari or Game drive with some tea and snacks for a break time and then return to the lodge for lunch and relaxing time to enjoy your room. Then afternoon activity which could be a short walking safari or a game drive and sundowners and return to the lodge for dinner and bed.
Today will more like day five, Morning breakfast and you will leave for a walking safari or Game drive with some tea and snacks for break time and then return to the lodge for lunch and relaxing time to enjoy your room. Then afternoon activity which could be a short walking safari or a game drive and sundowners and return to the lodge for dinner and bed.
Morning breakfast and depending on your flight schedule, you might do a morning game drive and transfer to Mwaleshi Airstrip for your short flight to Mfuwe Airport and then Your flight from Mfuwe to Lusaka for onward connection.
