This 14 night safaris will offer you an opportunity to combine the wondrous Victoria Falls, magnificent wildlife and untamed wilderness of the South Luangwa National Park and the tranquility and beauty of Lake Malawi.

Camps making up the itinerary include;

Tour Overview

Day 1

Arrival in Lusaka off your international flight

MEET AND GREET Upon arrival at Lusaka International Airport, you will be met and greeted by our representative. Please look out for your names on a name board as you enter the terminal building. Our representative will assist you through passport control and will also help you getting your luggage and clear customs. You’ll later be shown to the Domestic Departure lounge for your onward flight to Livingstone; passengers are required to check in at least 1 hour before departure. On arrival at Livingstone airport, you will be met by a representative/driver from Victoria Falls Waterfront Lodge and who will then transfer you to the lodge where you be spending 3 nights during your stay in Livingstone.
Day 2 to Day 4

Victoria Falls Waterfront Lodge

The Victoria Falls Waterfront is the perfect place to stay in Livingstone, central located between Livingstone town and the Victoria Falls. The lodge boats for its facilities catering to travelers every need including the river restaurant and bar with stunning views over the Zambezi River – the perfect spot for a sundowner. A varied mixed of accommodation includes en-suite chalets permanent tents and campsite.
Day 4 to Day 7

Chichele Presidential Lodge

Perched on top of a hill in the renowned South Luangwa National Park, the Sanctuary Chichele Presidential Lodge was built as a presidential retreat for former Zambian president Kenneth Kaunda in the 1970s. This historic lodge is set amongst lush forest and rewards guests with magnificent panoramic views of the Luangwa Valley. Outside of the dining room, a long verandah provides a wonderful setting for dinners when the weather allows. And when not, roaring fires welcome guests inside, taking the chill out of the cool air. The original colonial style of the lodge is preserved in its furnishings. This is evident in the ten luxurious suites, each with it’s own four-poster bed. Guests are further treated to air-conditioning, a full en-suite bathroom and any other comfort that they could want. In each suite, French doors open up onto private balconies that allow guests to make the most of the exquisite views of the African Bush. The lodge welcomes families, including children of all ages.
Day 7

Transfer from Chichele Presidential Lodge to Lion Camp

After your 3 nights stay Chichele Presidential Lodge you will be transferred to Lion Camp which is on the other side of the Luangwa River, deep inside the South Luangwa National Park – this will be your home for 4 nights.
Day 7 to Day 11

Lion Camp

You will start your unforgettable Luangwa safaris from the comfort of the Lion Camp, and spend your 4 nights exploring the areas around Lion Camp by open 4-wheel drive vehicle. Lion Camp is a stylish, unique and independent lodge accommodating up to 18 guests. It is located in one of the best game viewing areas of the South Luangwa National and away from other lodges and camps, which means that you are likely to enjoy your South Luangwa safaris without many other guests or vehicles around. The lodge looks out onto open grassland which is frequented by grazing mammals during day time, and becomes a hunting ground for lions by night. Accommodation at Lion Camp will be in luxury canvas and thatch chalets which are built on raised wooden platforms. All chalets are linked to each other and the main area by a raised wooden light boardwalk. The chalets have either four poster king side double beds or twin beds, each with a walk in mosquito net. They are all en-suite with showers and toilets, and each has a private deck overlooking the open plain in front of the lodge. Besides morning drives and walking safaris, you will also go on afternoon/evening game drives. The game drive usually takes about 3 to 4 hours. Sundowners are usually served at around sunset along the Luangwa River, giving you clear views of the African sun as it sets after which, you continue with your game drive in search of nocturnal animals. This will return after dark in time for dinner.
Day 11

transfer from Lion Camp to Mfuwe Airport

Depending on the schedule of your flight, you will be transferred from Lion Camp to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Likoma Island on Lake Malawi via Lilongwe.On arrival at Likoma Airstrip, you will be welcomed by a representative/guide from Kaya Mawa Lodge who will help with your luggage and transfer you to Kaya Mawa Lodge which will be your home for your last 4 nights on this memorable safaris.
Day 11 to Day 14

Kaya Mawa Lodge

Voted in the top ten ‘Most Romantic Places in the World’ by Conde Nast and in the Tatler top 101 Hotels in the World and most recently voted the 3rd Best Beach Property in Africa 2013 in the Good Safaris Awards and a finalist in 2012. From the construction and the staff to integration within the local community, there is literally nowhere else like it. Kaya Mawa Lodge sits on the shoreline at one of the most beautiful points on Lake Malawi. This is undoubtedly one of the best places in Africa for a beach safaris. Kaya Mawa first opened in 2000 after a six year building project. In 2008 the lodge was bought by Nick Brown and James Lightfoot, closed in 2009 for a complete rebuild and reopened in 2010. Each room is individually designed in partnership with Katundu Textiles, a workshop set up on the island to empower single mothers. All the workforce come from the neighbouring villages and have been trained on site. The result is a uniquely stunning lodge with a feeling of contemporary rustic whilst ultimately chic. Day 15

transfer from Kaya Mawa Lodge to Likoma Airstrip

On this day, you will be transferred from Kaya Mawa Lodge to Likoma Airstrip for your flight to Lilongwe where you will catch your international flight out of Malawi. This is the end of your safaris in Zambia and Malawi but we will still be in touch with you to make sure that your travel back home was well and safe.
