Activities at Gunn’s Camp, Okavango Delta
Mokoro Trips: Be among those who explore the historical river life by getting between the papyrus clad series on traditional ‘Mokoro’ dugouts. These are launched from the stern by experienced ‘poler’ conductors, enabling the visitors to sit back and assimilate the scenery. For complete day trips, Gunn’s camp serves delicious meals which are savored after stimulating bush walks.
Bush Walks: Discover the wastelands on foot following the direction and instruction of your own private guide.
Island Camping: The camp directors will prepare your mokoro with basic camping gear and meals so that you can set with your own private guide to find a place where you will set up camp. The nights are spent making supper at the campfire. This pleasant experience is subjected to availability and must be pre-booked in advance.
Motor-Boat Sunset Cruises: A great way to explore the crystal clear channels of the Boro River. Motor-boat cruises are organized in time to toast the modern African evenings while floating on a pool in the center of the Okavango Delta. Watch as the mutating colours are reflected in the smooth waters, disturbed only by dipping swallows or curios hippos. (Gunn’s Main Camp only, unless by prior arrangement and subject to delta water levels).
