9 Days Ultimate Luangwa Safari Experience
This 9-day safari offers an immersive South Luangwa experience, combining four nights at Nkonzi Bushcamp with four nights at Lion Camp. The itinerary brings together the excitement of walking safaris with excellent game viewing by vehicle, allowing you to experience the Luangwa Valley from different perspectives.
Beginning with four nights at Nkonzi Bushcamp, you will spend several days exploring the bush on foot, accompanied by an experienced walking guide. The safari then continues at Lion Camp, where you will enjoy a more luxurious setting and daily game drives, including afternoon and evening drives that provide opportunities to experience South Luangwa after dark.

The Itinerary
Day 1
Meet & Greet - Flight to South Luangwa National Park - Nkonzi Bushcamp
Upon arrival at Lusaka International Airport, our representative will meet you and assist you with your check-in for your local flight to Mfuwe.
After the one-hour flight to Mfuwe Airport, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to Nkonzi Bushcamp. The journey to camp provides your first opportunity for wildlife viewing as you travel through the Luangwa Valley.
Upon arrival, check in and settle into camp before enjoying dinner and your first night in South Luangwa.
Days 2-4
Exploring South Luangwa National Park
Spend three full days exploring South Luangwa on two activities per night stay, accompanied by an experienced guide. Walking safaris offer a completely different way of experiencing the park, allowing you to move at a slower pace and appreciate the smaller details of the bush, including animal tracks, plants, insects and signs of wildlife.
Each day begins with breakfast before your morning activity. Return to camp for lunch and some time to relax before heading out again in the afternoon for and evening drive.
After returning to camp, freshen up and enjoy dinner before settling in for the evening.
Day 5
Nkonzi Bushcamp - Lion Camp - Afternoon & Evening Game Drive
After breakfast, check out from Nkonzi Bushcamp and begin your transfer to Lion Camp. The journey provides another opportunity to enjoy wildlife viewing along the way.
Upon arrival at Lion Camp, check in and enjoy lunch before having some time to relax.
Later in the afternoon, enjoy an afternoon and evening game drive. As darkness falls, the safari continues, offering the opportunity to look for nocturnal wildlife and observe the changing atmosphere of the Luangwa Valley after sunset.
Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 6-8
Exploring South Luangwa National Park
Spend three full days exploring South Luangwa with two game-viewing activities each day.
Begin each morning with breakfast before heading out on a morning game drive. Return to Lion Camp for lunch and some time to relax before afternoon tea and your second safari activity.
The afternoon drive continues into the evening, offering the chance to experience South Luangwa’s renowned night safaris and search for nocturnal species that become active after dark.
Return to camp for dinner and a relaxing evening.
Day 9
Departure
After breakfast, check out and enjoy your final transfer to Mfuwe Airport. Depending on your flight time, there may be an opportunity for some final wildlife viewing along the way.
On arrival at Mfuwe Airport, board your flight back to Lusaka, where our representative will meet you and assist with your onward international flight connection.
