The Itinerary
Day 1
Meet & Greet – Flight to Kafue National Park
Your journey begins at Lusaka International Airport, where you will be met by our representative who will assist you in boarding your charter flight to Ngoma Airstrip in Kafue National Park.
Upon arrival, a guide from Nanzhila Plains Camp will welcome you and transfer you to the lodge. After check-in, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Dinner will be served before you retire for the evening.
Days 2-4
Explore Kafue National Park
You will have three full days to explore the southern region of Kafue National Park, enjoying two safari activities per day. These include day and night game drives, as well as guided walking safaris.
Nestled on the edge of a vast seasonal dambo in the secluded southern reaches of Kafue, Nanzhila Plains Camp is a sanctuary of peace and a renowned “place of predators.” This intimate camp offers access to a region largely untouched by mass tourism, where the remarkable diversity of antelope—including rare sable and roan—is complemented by frequent sightings of lion, cheetah, and the elusive African wild dog.
Whether enjoying a sundowner overlooking the waterhole or exploring the miombo woodlands on a guided walk, Nanzhila offers a deeply personal safari experience across more than 3,000 square kilometres of near-exclusive wilderness.
Day 5
Transfer to Busanga Plains - Kasonso Busanga Camp
After breakfast, transfer back to Ngoma Airstrip for your charter flight to Busanga Airstrip. Upon arrival, a guide from Kasonso Busanga Camp will meet you and transfer you to the lodge.
After check-in, depending on your arrival time, you may head out for an evening game drive or relax at the lodge before dinner is served.
Deep in the heart of the world-renowned Busanga Plains, Kasonso Busanga Camp offers a front-row seat to one of Africa’s most dramatic wildlife spectacles. Perfectly positioned within the seasonal floodplains, the camp overlooks vast grasslands that, during the dry season, teem with thousands of red lechwe and puku.
The Busanga Plains are particularly famous for their lion populations, often seen navigating mist-covered channels at sunrise or resting on ancient fig-tree islands scattered across the floodplain. The open terrain also supports cheetah, leopard, and occasional wild dog sightings, making this region a highlight for predator enthusiasts and photographers alike.
Days 6-8
Explore Busanga Plains
You will have three full days to explore the spectacular Busanga Plains, enjoying two safari activities per day. These include morning and evening game drives, as well as guided walking safaris.
Lunch is served at the lodge between activities, giving you time to relax and enjoy the surrounding wilderness. Evenings are spent unwinding at camp before dinner and overnight.
Day 9
Departure
After breakfast, transfer from Kasonso Busanga Camp to Busanga Airstrip for your charter flight back to Lusaka.
Your safari concludes with a seamless onward connection, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Kafue’s vast plains, abundant wildlife, and raw African wilderness.
