The Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Lusaka – Flight to Mfuwe – South Luangwa National Park
Your adventure begins at Lusaka International Airport, where our representatives will welcome you and assist with your 1-hour 10-minute flight to Mfuwe. Upon arrival, a guide from Njobvu Safari Lodge will greet you and transfer you to the lodge, a scenic 45-minute drive through local villages and bushland. Check in and settle into your accommodations. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner before retiring for the night.
Day 2-4
Exploring South Luangwa National Park
Spend three full days immersing yourself in the wonders of South Luangwa National Park, renowned for its dense wildlife populations and stunning landscapes. Each day begins with a hearty breakfast, followed by a morning game drive to spot elephants, lions, leopards, and more. Return to the lodge for lunch and some leisure time to relax.
In the afternoon, enjoy tea or coffee before heading out for an afternoon and night game drive. As the sun sets, sip on sundowners while watching the African sky transform into a canvas of colors. After dark, your guide will use a spotlight to search for nocturnal animals like genets, bushbabies, and hyenas. Return to the lodge for dinner and a restful night under the stars.
Day 5
Flight to Livingstone via Lusaka
After breakfast, embark on a short game drive (depending on your flight schedule) before transferring to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Lusaka. Connect to a second flight to Livingstone, the adventure capital of Zambia. Upon arrival, transfer to your lodge, check in, and relax as you prepare for the next chapter of your journey.
Day 6
Guided Tour of Victoria Falls & Sunset Boat Cruise
Start your day with breakfast before heading out on a guided tour of Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Learn about the falls’ history, geology, and local myths as you marvel at the sheer power and beauty of “Mosi-oa-Tunya” (The Smoke That Thunders). Return to the lodge for lunch and some downtime.
In the evening, embark on a sunset boat cruise along the Zambezi River. Watch as the sun dips below the horizon, casting golden hues across the water, and enjoy sightings of hippos, crocodiles, and elephants along the riverbanks. Conclude your day with a delightful dinner at the lodge.
Day 7
Game Drive in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park
After breakfast, set out on a game drive in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, home to Zambia’s only population of white rhinos. This unique park also offers opportunities to spot zebras, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure, enjoying the lodge’s amenities or relaxing by the river.
In the evening, savor a farewell dinner at the lodge, reflecting on the incredible experiences of your safari.
Day 8
Departure
After a final breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer to Livingstone Airport for your onward journey. Take with you unforgettable memories of Zambia’s wildlife, landscapes, and natural wonders.
