The Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Lusaka – Overnight at Pioneer Camp
Upon arrival at Lusaka International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred on a 20-minute drive to Pioneer Camp, located just outside Lusaka. This charming lodge offers a relaxing start to your safari with tranquil surroundings and a comfortable setting. Enjoy dinner and a good night’s rest before your adventure begins.
Day 2
Road Transfer to Hippo Lodge – Kafue National Park
After breakfast, embark on a scenic 4–5-hour road transfer to Hippo Lodge in Kafue National Park. This journey takes you through rural Zambia and into the heart of the park, offering glimpses of the countryside along the way. Upon arrival, check in, relax by the riverside, and enjoy a delicious dinner overlooking the Kafue River.
Day 3–5
Explore Kafue National Park
Spend the next three days enjoying activities such as early morning game drives, guided walks, and tranquil boat cruises on the Kafue River. Experience the park’s diverse wildlife, from elephants and hippos to a variety of bird species. In the evenings, unwind with sunset views and a hearty dinner under the stars.
Day 6
Flight to Mfuwe – Transfer to Njobvu Safaris
After breakfast at Hippo Lodge, check out and transfer by road back to Lusaka for your flight to Mfuwe. Upon arrival, a guide from Njobvu Safaris will meet you and transfer you to the camp (approx. 45 minutes). Settle in and enjoy the authentic atmosphere of this community-based camp before dinner and overnight.
Day 7–9
Explore South Luangwa National Park
Over the next three days, experience the magic of South Luangwa on morning and evening game drive safaris. Early mornings offer the best chance to spot predators like leopards, while afternoon and evening drives reveal nocturnal wildlife. Optional activities include walking safaris, and a village tour to learn about local culture. Evenings end with dinner and relaxation under the African sky.
Day 10
Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Lusaka to connect with your onward journey. This marks the end of your unforgettable Zambian safari.
