10 Days Luxury Zambian Safari Across Kafue & South Luangwa
This tailor-made safari is a 9-night journey through two of Zambia’s most rewarding wildlife destinations: Kafue National Park and South Luangwa National Park.
Your safari begins in the remote wilderness of Kafue at Konkamoya Lodge, set near Lake Itezhi-Tezhi, where vast landscapes and low visitor numbers create a truly exclusive safari experience. Here, you will enjoy classic game drives and nature-based activities in one of Africa’s largest and most diverse national parks, home to over 160 mammal species and rich birdlife.
The journey then continues to South Luangwa, often referred to as the “Valley of the Leopard,” where your stay at Chikunto Safari Lodge offers exceptional wildlife viewing, walking safaris, and immersive bush experiences along the Luangwa River.

5 Nights Full-Board at Chikunto Safari Lodge; Accommodation, all meals and snacks, all soft drinks, water, wine, beers, spirits and laundry services. Two game viewing activities per day i.e. game drives, boat cruises (depending on season), walking safaris, National Park Fees, bed levy and tourism levy.
Flights: Return domestic flight Lusaka → Mfuwe → Lusaka
Road Transfers: Return Lusaka International Airport → Konkamoya Lodge transfer, Mfuwe airport to Chikunto Safari Lodge, All airport transfers.
The Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Lusaka - Transfer to Kafue National Park (Konkamoya Lodge)
Upon arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, you will be met and transferred by road (approximately 4–5 hours) to Konkamoya Lodge in Kafue National Park.
Settle into your luxury safari tent overlooking the surrounding wilderness. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at camp or begin your first introduction to Kafue’s remote beauty. Dinner will be served at the lodge, followed by overnight.
Days 2 - 4
Explore Kafue National Park
Spend three full days exploring Kafue National Park, one of Africa’s largest and least explored wilderness areas.
Each day includes guided morning and afternoon game drives led by experienced guides. Wildlife sightings may include elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, wild dog, and a wide variety of antelope species.
Between activities, return to the lodge for meals and relaxation. The lodge also offers a unique experience with its lakeside setting, where wildlife can often be seen directly from camp.
Day 5
Transfer to Lusaka - Flight to Mfuwe (Chikunto Safari Lodge)
After breakfast, transfer back to Lusaka for your scheduled flight to Mfuwe (approx. 1 hour).
On arrival, you will be met by a guide and transferred by road to Chikunto Safari Lodge, located along the Luangwa River.
After check-in, enjoy lunch and some time to relax. In the afternoon, head out on your first game drive, which may continue into a night drive with spotlighting for nocturnal wildlife. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 6
Game Drives & Leisure
After breakfast, depart for a morning game drive in search of South Luangwa’s famous predators, particularly leopard, for which the park is renowned.
Return to camp for relaxation and lunch. The afternoon is at leisure, with optional activities such as spa treatments or relaxing by the pool. Later, enjoy an afternoon/evening game drive followed by dinner at camp.
Day 7
Walking Safari & Game Drives
Begin the day with an early morning walking safari, one of the signature experiences of South Luangwa, offering a more intimate perspective of the bush.
Alternatively, you may choose to relax at the lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy tea followed by another game drive with sundowners in the park. Dinner is served back at camp.
Day 8
Full Day Game Drive
Today you have the option to embark on a full-day game drive with picnic meals, allowing for extended exploration of the park based on current wildlife sightings.
Alternatively, enjoy a relaxed day at the lodge. In the evening, gather for pre-dinner drinks followed by dinner.
Day 9
Cultural Visit and Leisure
Today offers a mix of cultural and leisure experiences. You may visit a nearby local village and explore community initiatives, including craft experiences such as local jewellery making.
Alternatively, spend the day relaxing at camp. In the evening, enjoy your farewell dinner.
Day 10
Departure
After breakfast and a final activity (time permitting), transfer to Mfuwe Airport for your flight back to Lusaka, marking the end of your Zambia safari.
